Kindness Animal Hospital
Pain Management: Pain will be managed appropriately for all patients. Account owner assumes financial responsibility for unexpected pain management costs outside of the estimate provided at the time of intake.
Rabies Vaccination: Proof of current rabies vaccination is required for the patients care. The patient will be vaccinated at owners’ expense unless owner has provided proof of an up-to-date vaccine no later than the start of the appointment/procedure time.
Financial: Payment is due in full at the time of service and deposits may be required to schedule specific procedures/appointments. Account owner assumes complete financial responsibility for the charges incurred, whether the owner or designee brings the patient to the clinic for services. Deposits are required for the first new pet exam and are defined as a new pet never having been seen at our clinic, or not having seen the pet for 3+ years. Deposits are also required for all procedures as well as urgent care appointments. Deposits will be forfeited if owner no-shows or cancels with less than 1 business days notice. Otherwise, deposits are applied to the cost of services scheduled. A history of non-payment, failed, late or chronically rescheduled appointments may also require deposits at the time of booking.
Estimate: Estimates may not include all components of the patient’s treatment, but are a good faith estimate of what to expect based on the information available to the clinic at the time of intake. An estimate for all procedures will be disclosed, agreed upon and accepted via signature by account owner (or designee) at the time of intake.
Emergency + Urgent Care/Drop Off: Account owner, or designee, is required to disclose the best contact (name + phone number) to call with medical questions and updates as well as an emergency contact (name + phone number) at the time of intake/drop off. In the event the best contact and emergency contact are unreachable (within 10 minutes of the treating DVM attempting phone contact), account owner designates the treating DVM and/or management to make emergency and/or treatment decisions in the best interest and health of the patient. Treatment for emergency conditions and/or the presenting/diagnosed conditions will be pursued at the expense of account owner if the best contact and emergency contact are unreachable.
Anesthesia: It is best medicine to have patients under anesthesia for the least amount of time necessary. Treatment contingency plans allow the treating DVM to make reasonable decisions in the best interest of the patient regarding treatment in the moment. Staff will not call owner/designee during a procedure, except for in emergent situations, because this is unnecessary time the patient is under anesthesia. Owner/designee will receive a phone call after the procedure with updates and discharge instructions.
Lab work: Lab work is required for all dental procedures and any anesthetic events for pets who are 7+ years old and deemed otherwise healthy. If a pet is under 7 years old and healthy, lab work is optional. Lab work, at the frequency disclosed by the treating DVM, is required for ongoing use of certain medications and medical conditions.
Privacy: AI dictation is used to capture medical notes, procedures, and conversations accurately and efficiently. Photos and/or videos of the patient may be obtained to precisely document medical notes or promote marketing, publicity, or educational initiatives. Account owner demographics are protected and remain private for internal use only. Owner may opt in or out of SMS messaging which would provide text message communication with the clinic about patient status updates or appointment, medication or medical question inquiries.
